Regular Season Games:

22 teams not advancing to Quarterfinals of the NBA In-Season Tournament will play two regular-season games on December 6 and 8, with one home game and one away game. The matchups for 22 games will be determined using a formulaic approach, based on the Group Play standings in each conference from fifth to 15th.

Two out of 22 games will be cross-conference due to an odd number of teams in each conference not advancing to the Quarterfinals. Cross-conference games between bottom-finishing teams in Group Play will be scheduled, subject to travel constraints, and no team will play more than one of its two games cross-conference. The remaining 20 games will be held within the conference, featuring teams that are scheduled to play each other three times throughout the season.

The losing teams from each conference’s Quarterfinals will face each other in a regular-season game on December 8.
